InCounterflowcooling towers which are the most common type, hot water enters at the top, while the air is introduced at the bottom and exits at the top. So, the air vertically flows upwards, counter to the water flow in the fill media or water coils, downward. Due to the air flowing vertically, it’s not possible to use the basin’s gravity flow and pressurized spray systems, to spray the water on top of the fill media or water coils are used. A counterflow cooling tower can Wet or Hybrid, Open or Closed circuit, Forced or Induced draft with Steel, FRP or Concrete body.
